I have been making jewelry for over 25 years since moving to Utah. I first started designing bracelets as a stress relief activity from my work responsibilities. Designing and handcrafting jewelry were my constant companions while pursuing my career in the law and public service.
Having lived in several western states, I came to appreciate the beauty in stones such as turquoise, agates and jaspers, so I was drawn to use natural stones in various cuts and sizes. Then I added other natural materials such as pearls and amber that complemented the stones. My “signature” was always to include one special focal bead. Crystal and glass beads were later added to the mix. Having received compliments and encouragement (including sales) for my work I began designing more challenging projects: necklaces and ensembles.
In my on-going quest to find the “perfect” focal beads or components, creating my own was a logical next step. A cabochon of beautiful glass can stand on its own, adapt nicely to other materials or inspire a wire wrap. I have always loved the colors and tactile elements of the materials. I work to create jewelry that is both pleasing to the eye and a joy to wear. I have received several awards for my jewelry designs.
Now being retired, I have ventured into making 3D pieces using my favorite glasses: dichro and murrini. Again, the positive reaction to my work inspires me to move forward.
I am a member of the Glass Art Guild of Utah (GAGU) and accept requests for custom jewelry designs.
