Artist Statement
As a child I collected small glass animals as my family traveled around the country. I enjoy creating items that retain a bit of whimsy in the same way the glass animals were whimsical.

I love the mercurial nature of glass being both solid and yet transparent. I enjoy both making glass art pieces and functional glass pieces. In the functional glass I try to incorporate some artistry beyond the function of the glass itself.

I began with incorporating dragonflies into the pieces I made as much as I could. I still enjoy using the dragonfly as a motif in many of my pieces. But I don’t feel the need to have a dragonfly in every piece.
