Mary Young

Mary Young began taking stained glass and fused glass classes in 2002, prior to retiring from the FAA. After 30 years of work as an air traffic controller and in automation, it was a delightful change to explore her creative talents, such as they are. She has worked in pottery for many years, particularly using her interest in Utah rock art figures as a theme in her work, which she has carried into her glass art. At her instructor, Kerry Transtrum’s urging, she joined the Glass Art Guild in 2003, and began working on ways that she could use her writing skills to help the Guild and its artists gain experience in creating public art works.
