I  went out to the new Guadalupe School today (1385 N. 1200 W.) to deliver the glass plates and bowls that Lori and I put together using the kids’ 4″ square tiles.  See the pics below to see the 13 pieces that we made (the big & dazzly ones are Lori’s, of course).  They will give 11 to their major donors at their opening ceremony on Aug. 28th.

Needless to say, everyone who saw the pieces was just thrilled to see them and very grateful for all the work that we did (including those who helped teach).

I also delivered the creche figures that Suz had donated for them.  At the new school (about 50,000 sq. ft. vs their old 12,000 sq ft), they actually have room to store donations for future fundraisers, which they’ll do with that.  They appreciated your kind donation, Suz.

Both Jodi and I (and possibly Lori) plan to attend the grand opening ceremony and I’ll take some pics and write up a brief blurb about our participation for our website.  I don’t want these pics to go on the website until they get in the hands of the donors.  If anyone else wants to attend, please feel free to join us at 9 a.m. on the 28th. There should be a good crowd.

Once they get fully moved in and figure out their wall space possibilities, they’d love to talk to us about possibly doing a glass wall display of the kids’ self-portraits in glass, which is yet another project that Jodi has dreamed up.

Thanks to all of you who have played a role in this effort and all the efforts we’ve been involved in to help the Guadalupe School raise funds.  They do wonderful work and it is so nice to see them in a beautiful and efficient new building.
